Best Seafood Practices
Who We Are
Who We Are
One billion people worldwide rely on seafood as their primary source of protein. The Best Seafood Practices program addresses gaps in the wild seafood supply chain, with standards that cover the fishing vessel and processing plant.
Where Advocacy
Meets Assurances

The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) is an international nonprofit trade association dedicated to advancing responsible seafood practices through advocacy, education, and third-party assurances.

The BSP program provide assurances for safe working conditions aboard vessels as well as for responsible practices at processing plants.

BAP ensures that aquaculture is practiced responsibly through a robust third-party certification program that covers the entire production chain.

Our Shared Vision

A world that embraces the role of responsible seafood in meeting global nutrition needs

GSA is the only seafood organization that offers both certification and membership. Our combined efforts help ensure safe and ethical sourcing of seafood for future generations.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations‘ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere. Learn more about how GSA and the seafood industry are playing a role in addressing them.
